Dr. Danielle Marentette

Danielle Marentette has been practicing in Powell River since 2008, providing full-service Family Medical care for patients in the clinic, hospital, home, and long term care settings. A graduate of the UBC Medical school, she heard about Powell River from her husband, who was raised here and encouraged her to take on a Rural rotation in Powell River during her Residency. She fell in love with the Harvie Ave clinic, lifestyle, and medical community. Her husband is a high school teacher, and they have two young children. Dani has a special interest in whole foods plant-based nutrition as medicine.

Dr.  Charles Van Zyl

Charles moved his family from South Africa to Powell River in 2014 after spending time in BC previously in his career. Graduating from the University of Stellenbosch in 2003, he divides his time between the clinic and the ER.  Charles and his wife have 3 young children. They have made Powell River their own now. Charles loves many activities in and outdoors but just loves spending time with his family.

Dr. Katayoun Bahadori

Originally from Iran, Katayoun and her family moved to Vancouver in 2002, where she completed her family practice residency at the University of British Columbia. Katayoun has been practicing in Powell River since 2017 and—along with her husband, daughter, and German Shepherd— has quickly fallen for Powell River’s charms.  Dr. Bahadori emphasizes preventive medicine and health promotion in her practice. She is deeply committed to acting as a health advocate for her patients, empowering them through a collaborative, patient-centered, and uniquely educational approach to healthcare.

Dr. Martin Andreae

Martin and his wife moved from South Africa to Powell River in 2012. He has a full-service family practice with special interest in metabolic and longevity medicine and using lifestyle approaches to improving health and preventing chronic disease. He loves being a father of 3 young children in this beautiful part of the West Coast and appreciates the variety of outdoor activities Powell River has to offer. Martin also enjoys multiple hobbies that include woodworking, archery, photography and ultra distance endurance events. He speaks fluent English, German, and Afrikaans.
